Happy Good Friday guys!!! Today is such a special day, Jesus died for us, we are forgiven. Don't forget what was done for you on that cross, and how great God's love is for us for offering his only son as a sacrifice for our sins.
Today I want to talk about heaven. I've recently been reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan, I've previously blogged about it. That book is amazing, and I am so glad God put it in my hands. It is bringing me conviction, but yet humbling me and bringing me closer to God and the life he has called us to live. I was reading these passages last night and it really gave me a heavy heart
"Lukewarm People think about life on earth much more often than eternity in heaven. Daily life is mostly focused on today's to-do list, this week's schedule, and next month's vacation. Rarely, if ever, do they intently consider the life to come. Regarding this, C.S. Lewis writes, "If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this."
"A person who is obsessed (with Jesus) thinks about heaven frequently. Obsessed people orient their lives around eternity; they are not fixed only on what is here in front of them."
When I read this I felt so sad. I never really find myself thinking about heaven. I find myself always so consumed in what's going on right now. What am I doing tomorrow, Where am I going to college, what do I have to do today? I know the bible tells us to not be so consumed with things on Earth but to be consumed with the things were going to receive in heaven, but very rarely do I find myself ever taking this to heart. So last night I decided it was time to actually take this to heart, and I am so glad I did. I closed my book and my bible and just thought of heaven. I thought of what it would be like to come face to face with Jesus Christ, what it would be like to be in the presence of God, worshiping him, and what it would be like to be in a perfect place where there is no pain, no evil, but joy, happiness, love and peace. I began to find myself in awe. Coming face to face with Christ? Thinking about that just gives me goosebumps and I can't help but let a tear or two slip. Heaven is real, heaven is the finish line, when were done with this life it's there waiting for us if we have received it. It last forever and doesn't perish or fade like our life's hear. It only makes sense to always think about it. I am so glad that the Lord brought this to my attention and gave me conviction about it. I was really missing out on a lot of joy and amazement by being so consumed with right now and not thinking of what God has promised us. I now know that thinking about the life I have to come is so important and it makes me even more eager to live a good life hear so I can have an even better one with Jesus in paradise. I hope you guys can take something from this today and just take a minute to think about what living in heaven is going to be like, and that we shouldn't worry and consume ourselves so much with this life but with the great, beautiful life that's to come.
"Think about the things of Heaven. Not the things of Earth. Col. 3:2

Hey guys! Today has been a pretty good day, I've been sick for the past few days and have just started feeling better! I was finally able to go out and take pictures of my new Easter dress! I got it this past weekend at Marshall's for $25 to wear to a debutante ball and loved it so much that I decided it would have to be my Easter dress.
I love the back of this dress. The lace back and the olive color tie causes the back to be just as cute and put together as the front. |

Greatest Love Story
God, the creator of all things, doesn't need us at all. He can do all things by himself, but for some reason he wants us, for some reason we are considered "precious and honored in his sight" (Isaiah 43:4). The only thing we can offer to God are our hearts, which are full of sin and deceit. But somehow he loves us so much that he sent Jesus to die for us, so that his truth can be relieved, our sins can be forgiven, and we can have everlasting life. Jesus knew that we would mess up and sin daily, but he still was beaten, whipped, spat on, and nailed to the cross, so the sin we commit won't be held against us, and so that we can have a relationship with him. God's love for us is everlasting and never failing.
In today's world when you hear the phrase love story, you think of a boy and girl who run into each others paths and then bam, fall in love. You think of dating, kissing, holding hands, nice gifts, someone to talk to, someone who understands. As much as I love sappy chick flick movies that consists of all these things, not one of those movies can compare to the greatest love story of all time. God giving us his only son to die for all people. This whole week Consists of the days leading up to Jesus' death. Sunday was Palm Sunday, this Friday is Good Friday, and then Sunday is Easter. All of these days are so important because they're apart of this epic love story. On Sunday in my youth group we watched The Passion of The Christ. It is one of the best movies I have ever seen. All I could do was cry and sit in awe of how powerful and beautiful God's love for us is. Seeing what Jesus went through for us is such a humbling experience. I honestly fell in love with him all over again while watching that movie. I don't have a boyfriend, and I'm hoping and praying that when I do have a boyfriend he will be the only boyfriend I ever have and will later become my husband ( I don't like the whole dating game, it's to much time and energy wasted on someone you won't be with forever). But I do have a love story and it is the greatest, most beautiful, most crazy, radical, indescribable love story to ever exist. Remember that it's not just my love story, but everyone's, and I hope that as you go through this week and your life you remember what was done for you on the cross, and that God's love is the greatest love there is.

Cobalt( New color obsession)
Hey guys! So I've been starting to see cobalt everywhere and I am officially obsessed! I love it! It's an extremely eye catching color, especially when you pair it with another bright color like the pink neon one above. I have yet to own anything in cobalt, but on my next shopping trip I will be on the lookout. These are some of my favorite pieces I found on polyvore. Cobalt can be a tricky color to pull off but not impossible Tips: Cobalt looks great paired with black, gold, different shades of pink and cream like in the Marc Jacobs bag above, If you're wearing a cobalt top it's best to wear denim, white, or black bottoms. Don't wear to much of it in one outfit, alternate with top and shoes, or shoes and bag, or a cobalt dress with different color shoes, and don't forget to accessories ( I love the gold beads paired with the bracelet above) Hope you guys enjoy this color, outfit and tips as much as I do. Top: Bells Outlet (It was only $7, and it combines two of my favorite trends, Peplum and Polka Dots. I also love the navy blue color.) Jeans: Target ( These jeans are super comfy and go with every single top in my closet, I love them and they were only $20 dollars! Finding inexpensive jeans is hard but searching for them is definitely worth it! Tip: Everyone should have at least one pair of jeans that you can wear with anything.) Shoes: Pay less ( I've had these shoes for two years! I love the simplicity of them and they go with everything, I wear them all the time.) Hi guys! I hope you enjoy toady's outfit as much as I do! I want to leave off with this bible verse that I really needed to use today. Luke 6:28 Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Today I encountered a not so nice person who said some mean things to me. At first I was angry, upset and my feelings were hurt very badly. It took a lot and I really had to humble my self, which is not easy, but I remembered this bible verse and new it's what I needed to do. I didn't want to pray for this person but God calls me to do it. Once I did, I started feeling better and let go of the situation and the anger in my heart. So remember when people persecute you, curse you, or just have a really nasty attitude toward you, pray for them and yourself. God will give you peace about the situation and help heal your pain. Faith Inspiration (Moses)
One of my favorite people from the bible is Moses. He was such a true servant of God. One thing I love about Moses is that in the beginning he was a man who thought nothing of himself and was considered not so great. Although Moses thought of himself as weak and awkward, God had such a special plan for his life and used Moses to do some absolutely incredible things.I found that I could relate to Moses when God talked to him, through the burning bush. God approached Moses telling him to go to Pharaoh and set the Israelites free. Moses's reaction "No way!". This is what he actually says, "But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? Exodus 3:11. Moses kept questioning God making excuses saying he was awkward and slow of speech and just couldn't do it. Sometimes in life this is how I am. When I feel God leading me in a certain direction or asking me to do something, there's times when I'm like "I don't know about this God, I don't think I can handle it." Well guess what I 'm right, I can't handle it, Moses couldn't handle it,no one can handle it, you can't do anything on your own! When God asks you to do something he's not just going to leave you hanging, he's going to supply strength courage, wisdom, and all of the other things you need in order to follow his plan. As Moses continues to talk to God and tries to get himself out of doing what he is told God keeps assuring him that this is not something he will have to do alone, "And God said, "I will be with you." Exodus 3:12. Moses finally starts listening to God and that leads to great things. He leads the people out of Egypt, Parts the Red Sea, and receives the 10 commandments from God. Moses was faithful to God and because of it he achieved great things and brought glory to God and his people. Moses is a big faith inspiration for my life and I hope after reading this you to can get something out of Moses's incredible story. Here is one of my favorite verses about Moses that shows who he is and encourages me to have faith and follow God's plan.
24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
Hebrews 11:24-27

Chic Nudes
Hey guys! I've been so busy the past few days,so I haven't had time to put together outfit pictures but I will have some coming soon, so look out for them! Today I was playing around on polyvore and decided to put together some of my favorite nude pieces. What I love about all of these pieces is that they are relaxed but chic at the same time. I love the leather jacket, and white polka dots with the blush colored sweater. These jeans are perfect for the outfit, they come above the ankle so it causes the heels to stand out, and they are light washed so it's not distracting from the rest of the outfit. I'm a big fan of Chanel, and the chain bag and pearl earrings will forever remain my two favorite Channel pieces of all time. I like that the bracelet is gold, I think it compliments the rest of the outfit well because it doesn't blend in. Nude lipstick is the best because it looks natural and goes with everything, and this Essie matte nail polish is my favorite color from the brand. Hope you enjoy these chic nudes as much as I do! Hi guys! So for the past few days God has really been dealing with me on how I view my possessions as well as other peoples possessions. When it comes to things like clothes, makeup, jewelry, shoes, I become pretty obsessive. I love fashion, and I feel like God has given me a passion for it in order to glorify his name. But lately I've been viewing material things like clothes in a way the Jesus doesn't want us to view them. That's when I came across this bible verse above. It really opened my eyes to how were supposed to view material things. First of all were not supposed to be greedy of what others have. We're all guilty of this! Sometimes I'll see a girl with really cute expensive shoes, or a celebrity on TV with a Chanel bag and I'll say in my head "I wish I had that" or "If only I could afford that I would be so happy." This is a major mistake! When I die and go to heaven I'm not taking expensive shoes or a Chanel bag with me! The only thing I'm taking is my soul, my heart. And that's what real life is measured by, not by what we have, but by our hearts and that we are content with Christ and live not for ourselves but for Jesus. I challenge all of you as I challenge myself to remember what this life is about and that the material things we have will soon fade but the love we have from God is forever. "be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5 |

Sunday Pleats
When it comes to pleats I am extremely picky. They have to be placed just right and have the perfect fit and color. When I came across this pleated peplum shirt at Target I instantly fell in love and that's a rare thing for me when it comes to pleats. My first favorite thing about this shirt is that it has a peplum design. I love peplum, it accentuates the waist and can dress up a simple outfit. The second thing I love about this shirt is that it's black. The black causes the pleats to not be to over the top but subtle and simple.
I paired this shirt with Chipped indigo slim flit flared jeans, I liked the relaxed look the pants gave the outfit. And last but not least to finish it off, cream pink earring studs from Wet Seal, that are my new obsession.

Happy Saturday!
Hey guys! Today has been such a nice day! The weather was beautiful! I took some really great pictures for the next outfit post! Those will hopefully be up tomorrow! With tonight's post I want to talk about this amazing documentary I stumbled upon today. It's called "Beware of Christians". If you haven't seen it I highly recommend that you do it's extremely eye opening and humbling. One thing that stood out to me the most was a quote they put in the very beginning.
"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyles. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable." - Brennan Manning
This hit me really hard. As a Christian God calls us to not only talk about Jesus and say we're going to follow his commands but actually do them! If we say one thing and do another non Christians will get a twisted view of Christianity and may reject it. So as Christians lets remember to live in love and imitate Christ through all of our actions.
For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. - Romans 2:13
I hope you guys can get something out of this, I know I did! And don't forget to watch "Beware of Christians" you won't regret it!!!!

Fashion Inspiration (Solange Knowles)
Yes! Finally it's Friday! I'm so ready for a break from this busy week! Today I decided to post outfits from one of my favorite Fashionistas. Solange Knowles (Beyonce's sister) has an amazing style that I'm in love with. I love the way she uses color, and her outfits are always so clean and simple yet eye catching. These four outfits showcase everything I love about her personal style. Denim on denim, color blocking, polka dots, and blazers with body con dresses are some of my favorite fashion trends and she demonstrates them perfectly. I hope you enjoy these outfits as much as I do! Love, Sofia |
